TF Opening for GenEd1125

GenEd1125: Artificial and Natural Intelligence taught by Professor Venki Murthy (MCB). This is a new-ish course that just started last Spring, and attracts Harvard College students of all disciplines. We’re looking for several new graduate student TFs for the course in Spring 2022! If you have a passion for teaching and/or want to get experience / hone your skills, please apply to TF this course :)

Some pertinent details:

• Broadly, the course tries to answer the question, “What is intelligence?” You can think of it as a survey through recent advances in AI and neuroscience research. We discuss the similarities and differences between artificial and biological intelligence, as well as the moral and societal implications of AI. The full course description can be read here. You need not be an expert in neuroscience or AI, but should at least be interested in the topic!
• The course will run Monday/Wednesday, 3-4:15pm. TFs must attend all classes (likely held in Northwest Building or BioLabs) as well as a weekly 30-min TF meeting (held right after class on Monday).
• Additionally, TFs will also run 1 section of their own of ~15 students (day of the week TBD later). Section is a mix of group discussion (e.g., how should AI be regulated?) and going over problem sets (e.g., implementing TD-learning). I will provide guidelines for what to go over in your sections each week, but there will be flexibility for your own teaching style, of course!
• TFs will also be responsible for grading ~5 problem sets over the course of the semester (work is divided amongst TFs).
• Familiarity with Python and mathematical / computational modeling preferred (as you will have to walk through some technical problem sets with students).
